Remember G.A.C will remove Chlorine don’t let others tell you differently, if you live in an area where Chloramine levels are present don’t move over to Bone Char Carbon this is not as efficient as normal carbon, you need to consider using the Catalytic Carbon which is without doubt the best carbon to use for Chloramine.Bone Char carbon is primarily used in industries to remove heavy metals and water discolouration not Chlorine or Chloramine.

G.A.C 

Coconut Based Activated Granulated Carbon

The best quality carbon and its granulated and far better than sticks as the surface area is far greater,it’s very good at removing Chlorine and especially when used in one of the large Aqua Dechlor Big Blue vessels.

Our  G.A.C Activated carbon is a high activity Granular Activated Carbon manufactured by high temperature steam activation from selected grades of Coconut shell.

Its suitable for use in a wide variety of liquid purification and applications such as drinking water, water treatment,POU/POE water Treatment,dechlorination and ozone removal.

The well developed microporous structure of this carbon gives a significant advantage when absorbing molecular weight organic molecules.

Catalytic Carbon

Catalytic Carbon is the new generation of activated carbon, it offers enhanced Catalytic properties in all oxidation, reduction,and decomposition applications plus all the capabilities of standard carbon and the added benefit as it will remove Chloramine which is increasingly being used in certain areas of the country.

The increased  Catalytic performance of this Carbon enables improved performance in existing applications while simultaneously opening up new range of possibilities.

Common Applications

H2S control      Convert H2S to sulphate to improve sour taste and odour

Chloramine       Control  Faster removal rates than standard activated carbon

Iron Oxidation   Increases oxidation rates

Sulfite Control    Oxidises sulfites to sulfates

Peroxide Control Quick and total removal of hydrogen peroxide

Hydrazine             Quick and total removal of hydrazine

Bone Char carbon

Bone Char is primarily used in industries to remove water staining,but it’s also superb at removing heavy metals and is why it makes it so useful to the koi keeper as many suffer with this in their incoming water supply,it’s not the best at removing Chlorine or Chloramine that some may suggest it is……but we would use this ideally in conjunction with either G.A.C or Catalytic carbon depending on your incoming water source and if Chlorine or Chloramine is used.
