All our Koi are imported direct from Japan and every single Koi is personally hand selected by us in Japan from well known disease free breeders, who also run Bio-Secure farms and can provide us with the evidence and documentation to prove this.

All Koi on arrival here are then subjected to our very strict quarantine protocol as we did when we were members of the now closed down P.K.D.A (Professional Koi Dealers Association)which includes the use of heat ramping twice, through 2 complete cycles in which the Koi are taken up to 24 degrees twice and held there for a min 21 days on the first cycle then 14 on the second and chilled down in between to 12-13 degrees, and takes aprox 7 weeks,this is the best way that CEFAS recommend, to find viruses like KHV, and also other problems that can occur with koi. Once through this and only when we are 110 percent satisfied will the Koi be offered for sale and allowed to leave our premises.

Please Note:

Under no circumstances will any Koi be released during this quarantine period as we feel this is the only method  to ensure when you purchase a koi from us you know we have tried everything possible to make your latest Koi as safe as humanly possible and you get to it enjoy it for many years to come.

Please never be afraid to ask us any question regarding our quarantine procedures, and in our opinion you should never purchase a Koi from anywhere that does not take the risks involved of not quarantining seriously, just walk away 2-3 weeks in our opinion is simply not good enough nowadays, all quarantine should be a min 6 weeks and not 2-3 and should also in my opinion due to our experience should involve the use of heat ramping, if you wish to know more on this subject and why please just ask.

Any Koi that are purchased from us either in our Shop or at one of the many Koi Shows we attend in the UK throughout the year are always without exception are doubled and sometimes triple bagged and placed into a fish box.

We also along with our 5 star pet licence hold our own import licence which is issued and regulated by CEFAS.
