These are the ultimate unit for those that suffer with not only Chlorine or Chloramine in their incoming water supply,but also heavy metals especially Copper which can be so dangerous to aquatic life especially Koi,if you are one of those who is constantly seeing your Koi flicking and flashing,or sores appearing and you have found no evidence or parasitic activity this could be down to this,so we have put together what we think is the ultimate water purifier which includes the first vessel to be filled with either G.A.C or Catalytic followed by the second one being filled with Bone Char, we have been using them like this for many years now on all our systems.

These come complete with Carbon pre-loaded, with either  G.A.C Coconut shell  Based carbon,Catalytic Carbon or Bone Char.

Please Note: If you live in an area where Chloramine is present in high levels we would always recommend purchasing the big blue which is filled with Catalytic Carbon, as this is a Carbon which has been specifically designed to use for this purpose.

In areas where just Chlorine in just present standard Gac Coconut based Carbon will be fine, just always buy as large a unit as possible.

Bone char

Bone Char is primarily used in industries to remove water staining,but it’s also superb at removing heavy metals and which makes it so useful to the koi keeper as many suffer with this in their incoming water,it’s not the best at removing Chlorine or Chloramine that some may suggest it is……

Remember these are easily recharged and are not a throw away item……!

Chlorine burns fish, it can damage their scales and gills and in severe situations it can even kill.

The filter used to remove chlorine from water is called a In simple terms the purifier and works by passing water through activated carbon and out into the pond providing chemically cleaner, chlorine free water, it will also remove many nasty heavy metals,pesticides etc etc.

The Chlorine content in water varies from area to area so there are no hard and fast rules as to how long the carbon will work before it is exhausted and needs to be changed, however the life of the carbon can be prolonged by regularly back-flushing the unit to prevent tracking.

Certain models on the market state their units with approx 1 kg of carbon in and the larger unit of 1.5kg can do 225,000ltr’s and 550,000 ltr’s before exhausted, these units have a massive amount more in our units and we will let you make you own mind up which are more economical to use…!
