Saki Hikari Deep Red is a floating colour enhancing diet for higher quality koi.

Saki Hikari Deep Red contains a precise amount of select, pure cultured Spirulina which naturally contains concentrated levels of carotenoids to help your koi develop more rapid and deeper coloration.

Saki Hikari Deep Red has been specifically formulated to reduce the chance of discolouration of the Shiroji (white areas of the koi) when used as directed.

The inclusion of the Hikari Germ, a live (viable) naturally occurring living micro-organism (probiotic) and the uniquely blended ingredients offer extremely efficient nutrient utilisation. This translates to higher feed efficiency!

The Hikari Germ remains active in the waste making it more powder-like and easier for your bio-action to decompose due to the higher surface area. The side benefit is clearer, cleaner water and less pond maintenance.

Meant to be a finishing diet for show koi leading up to the event or as an aid for koi who are having trouble maintaining their colour, Saki Hikari Deep Red also can be used during warmer water periods as an additive to our other Hikari koi diets to boost colour depth.

Expect predictable growth and desirable form when using Saki Hikari Deep Red. For increased growth try Saki Hikari Growth and in cooler water temperatures Saki Hikari Multi Season is an excellent choice to avoid losing the progress made with other Saki Hikari diets during the summer months.

Please note: The Hikari Germ is transitory in nature. Once feeding is stopped or the concentration of Saki Hikari used reduced, the benefit will be lost within a short period of time.

What is Hikari Germ ?

The Hikari Germ is a source of live (viable) naturally occurring microorganisms which rapidly take priority in the intestine of the koi. It works to utilise the available nutrition working to reduce that which is available to bad bacteria thereby slowing their propagation. Additionally, Saki Hikari offers your koi improved nutrient utilisation through more efficient assimilation. This can translate into better water quality with continued use.

Saki Hikari Deep Red Feeding:

For best results use Saki Hikari Deep Red when your water temperature is consistently above 20°C (68°F). As this diet offers an extreme colour enhancing effect and is meant to be used as a supplemental feed.

As a reference, based on feeding trials at the Hikari Aquatic Labs, a mix of this diet and Saki-Hikari Balance in a ratio of one part Deep Red to two parts Balance would provide a similar color enhancing effect as Saki-Hikari colour Enhancing. Therefore, higher levels of Saki Hikari Deep Red will provide more aggressive colour enhancement.
