Again it’s that exiting time of year when Japan comes calling……… as the harvest season is once again upon us,this year we will be out there from the 2nd November until the 12th a slightly longer trip than normal but there is a very good reason for this,i have been asked to judge at the Ogata Cup a competition which is now in its 3rd year and has proved very popular, its basically all the dealers and their customers who have purchased Koi from Ogata either via auction or open sales or left as Azukari are entitled to and can be entered,
So this will be the first event we attend on our first day their followed by the live Ogata Auction the next day,there will also be 2 further days there where Ogata San will hold open sales where we will have the chance to start selecting many Nisai,we have also arranged an extra day with Yusuke to pop back to the farm when it will be less busy to potentially look at further purchases,and to take a look at all our Azukari Koi in more detail,
After this we move onto Okawa koi farm a farm as many of you know we have been visiting for many years now and although he is definitely much busier than he ever used to be, we have never failed to find some great quality Koi there,he always makes the trip worth while,whilst there again we will take a look with the breeder at our Azukari Koi.
Another day another farm this time Ueno Koi farm a farm and a breeder i just love visiting he is a real gentleman and produces some amazing koi especially Showa,he epitomizes the the small breeder perfect and cleary shows the massive difference between visiting the farms of great wealth such a fabulous place to visit,
