Yesterday although very happy with what we selected it was very tough so many of the ponds were just not upto the quality we were looking for as many had already been selected from them,so today we go again and see what we can secure from other ponds,
More to follow later…….
Well unfortunately today has been very difficult, we once again went to Ogata Koi farm and went through many ponds, but the quality and variety simply was not there to warrant selecting, which was kind off disappointing but sadly is the downside and reality to so many dealers from not just all over the world, but also the uk and europe now wanting Ogata koi and demand is now simply out striping supply,it seems many breeders now selling out much earlier than previous years due to the sheer demand from Asia as they can and require Koi almost all year round.
On a positive note though,we did manage to select some smaller but really good quality Platinum Ogons and some Mukashi Ogons from the silver fox bloodline, very popular now due to their good growing potential.Tomorrow we aim to have a day off from Koi selecting but will head off to Ueno Koi farm on Sunday…Lets see what we can find there.
Super quality Platinum Ogons and a few Gin Matsuba
Mukashi Ogon (Silver Fox Bloodline) very fast growing
We also took a look at ours and customers Azukari Koi ,this Budo Goromo was purchased at Tosai from the Ogata online Auction as unsexed, its now Nisai 52cm and female just goes to show you that all those that they when a breeder advertises a Koi as unsed they do so as they now its really male………you will see that the Shirji is no where near as white as it should be but that will return as these have been heavily fed with colour food.
Customers simply outstanding high quality Hi Utsuri, one of the very nicest examples we have ever purchased, and to say the customer is happy is an under statement.
Customers outstanding HQ Shiro Utsuriwe purchased this and sold at Nisai,it then went on to be awarded a 1st at last years All Japan Young Koi Show, and Ogata San insisted it should stay again as Azukari its now Sansai 66cm.
