Please Note: If you live in an area where Chloramine is present in high levels we would always recommend purchasing the big blue which is filled with Catalytic Carbon, as this is a Carbon which has been specifically designed to use for this purpose.
Coconut Shell Carbon
In areas where just Chlorine in just present standard Coconut based Carbon will be fine, just always buy as large a unit as possible.

The filter used to remove chlorine from water is called a In simple terms the purifier and works by passing water through activated carbon and out into the pond providing chemically cleaner, chlorine free water, it will also remove many nasty heavy metals,pesticides etc etc.
The Chlorine content in water varies from area to area so there are no hard and fast rules as to how long the carbon will work before it is exhausted and needs to be changed, however the life of the carbon can be prolonged by regularly back-flushing the unit to prevent tracking.

Its impossible to give an accurate figure on how many ltrs per minute these units can do, or how long the cartridges will last,this is due to so many different factors of which the main one is everybody’s water in every area of the country is different, and secondly water authorities in different parts of the country use different amounts or chemicals to dechlorinate the water.
