Well that was a very eventful trip, that we had not planned or anticipated…..all was going so well up at 4am Sunday morning in good time to get showered and ready for the long day ahead including getting to the airport for 6am to get checked in and drop of our baggage off…..what could possibly go wrong….!
After checking in, and dropping all our baggage off and then finding somewhere nice to sit and chill and have a nice enjoyable breakfast all seemed to be going like clockwork…until the board which shows flight times and departure gates etc etc on flashed up our flight would be delayed by some 30mins,thats ok we thought only 30mins time for one last coffee then off we go how wrong could we have been,we finally took off at 12:05pm instead of 08:55am due to a tyre having to be replaced and then a window also at the rear of the plane and yes you guessed it the very same window we were going to be sitting next too……..but hey i suppose you have to take the positives at least they found the issues before we were in the air lol,
So finally we were on our way albeit 3hrs after our scheduled flight should have taken off and of course this then created another problem, we were never ever going to be in Japan in time to catch our connecting flight down south, but luckily British Airways sorted this all out whilst we were in the air it just meant getting to Japan and going to the JAL desk to get new boarding passes issued, which did seem to take an age but all was good we finally got our 2nd flight and off to Fukuoka we flew,
So as you can see no matter how hard you plan these trips, there is always something that could go wrong that is totally unforeseeable and whilst generally gets sorted out it inevitably just adds time on to what is already a very long day of travelling,i n total from getting up to arriving at our Hotel 29.5hrs, just enough time and energy left to check in and get out for a bite to eat and a couple of beers……..heres hoping the rest of our time here goes to plan…….
Tomorrow the first day of hunting for Tosai at the Okawa Koi farm…..more to follow on the Day 1 Blog
